A SINCERE TRIBUTE
The affectionate respect in winch the late Mrs. C. M. Luke was hold was shown yesterday by the masses oi lovely flowers, iv wreaths and'other devices, wliicli were sent to tho residence in Coromandol street. There was a great gathering of friends also amongst these being the Rev. Dr. Kennedy Elkott, Dr. Ewart, Dr. Patties, Dr. Hardwick Smith, Mr. l'ethcriek, Mr. M. Luckic, Mr. E. D;nvson, and representatives of the Hospital Board, the City Council, the Salvation Army, and of _a number of the other organisations for social Kirvice in the city. Among tho relatives present, other than tho sons and daughters, were Sir John and Lady Luke, and Captain and Mrs.. Post. • The sons'of the late Mrs. Luko were the pall-boar-ors, and deep sympathy was felt for Mr. Luke and family in their bereavement. The early part of tho burial service was held in tho house, but a great number of friends were- unable to get indoors, thero being so many present, and went on to the remainder of tho service at Karori Cemetery.
