A LETTER.
Dear Fairiel, —I am sorry that I did not write to you during the holidays, but I havo been staying at Lower Hutt. I have been having a simply lovely time. I had a great many rides upon a horse called Peggy. There were also s.ome fowls and two lovely grey cats ''Micky and Mack." Do you like dogs? There were three, where I was staying, a pointer and two roughhaired terriers., One had a black mark right over his 'face, and so his name was Smut: but the other was Busty. It was lovely to wake in the morning and hear'the cocks crowing, and sco the sun peeping over a far. hill, while the air was so sweet and fresh. We also had sonic honey straight from the hives and O, Faii-icl, it waa good! One day, Fairiel, wo went for a motor drive, to Akatarawa, away up on the hills, where we had a lovely view. We were very sorry ,when it was time to come back to Wellington and school. Fairiel, don't the lights of the city look lovely at night when you are coming to Wellington? All bright and glittering, shining brilliantly out of the darkness. ■ JOYCE DENNISON. Brooklyn.
