RUAHINE ARRIVES.
The Kuahlnc, which sailed from Southampton on tho 2(ith April for Wellington, via Panama Canal, arrived in the stream at 3.30* li.m. yesterday, and berthed at Pipltea Wharf shortly after 5 o'clock. ■ Fresh winds and rough seas were encountered during tho first week of the voyage, but after that the weather cleared, and remained fine until the New Zealand coast was neared, when strong winds and moderate seas were met with. The Itualiluo arrived at Colon on the 10th May, and sailed from Panama tho following day for' i'itcalrn Island, where! she arrived on tho 21st May. Tlie voyage was uneventful. Captain K. T. Smith, R.N.R., retains command of the ltuahluo, and associated with him are the following officers: Chief, Mr. H. Reilly; second, Mr. M. A. D. Stewart; third, Mr. ,T. li. Hauler; fourth,. Mr. G. Chaplin; chief engineer,. Mr. A. White; second, Mr. D. J. M'lvor; third, Mr. R. Armour; fourth, Mr. A. W. Eooneg; electrician, Mr. J. Irving; wireless operators, Messrs. F. Bedford and w. Fordham; ship's surgeon, Dr. J. B. Bate; steward-in-charge, Mr. F. A. Freeman. Tho Ruahine brought the following passengers:—First class: Mrs. M. J. E. Bauchop, Miss E. Bauchop, -Mr. K. S. Bradsbaw, Mrs. Bradshaw, Mr. A. E. Bradshaw, Mr. A. E. Campbell, Mr. A. H. Dodd, Mr. J. Farrcll, Sir. W. Marbech, Mrs. Dodd, Miss B. M. Dodd, Mr. G. W. M'Donald, Major F. B. Mackinlay, ' Mr. W. J.
