Eepresentative Williams, speaking in Congress, predicted that President Coolidge would be renominated for another terra of office and re-elected unless he Jnade a positive statement in, time to prevent the Kansas City Convention from redrafting him. . Mr. Williams pointed out that the 1924 Congress had often obstructed President Coolidge's policies, yet the people gave the President an overwhelming majority, and the same would occur in 1928, he de■clared, unless the President's own positive statement that he would not accept was forthcoming.
