In "Love ami learn" Miss Ralston appears as a young daughte: who finds hor parents on the verge of divorce. She decides to give them something else 'to worry about in the hopo of making them forget their own little troubles, and sots out to get Into gaol, which, after many adventures, she does. In "The Gay Defender" Dlx appears as Joaquin Murrleta, a young Mexican don, who, when lawless Americanos invado his goldladen land, endeavours to keep his hacienda, protect bis retainers, and win the lovo of a girl. Good supports are also shown, and excellent' music Is supplied by the orchestra, under Mr. Ivan Fosello. H.M.S. Tiger, H.M.S. Champion, destroyers,, and other auxiliary vessels, - were lent for the filming of "Second to None,' a romance of the Royal Navy, in. which patriotism and service arc blended. Some wonderful shots, illustrative of Britain's might, are to be seen in the film. The work of the lower deck is followed by Captain's defaulters, a dance aboard ship, and finally a naval action with the firing of guns and the discharge of torpedoes. These incidents of the film are described as wonderfully Interesting, and they furnish authentic atmosphere for a melodrama of the endeavours of a young seaman to rise in tho Navy that he may marry an old playmate. His lovo is not reciprocated, and the object of his adoration marries the commander of his vessel. He deserts, but the outbreak of war sees his return, and the climax of the film Is a naval engagement, in which ho is killed whilst fixing a new ensign at the masthead. "Second to None" will be screened at the Regent Theatre tomorrow under the patronage of the Navy League. An added attraction to the programme will bo tho atmospheric prologue, which features Miss Mhleen O'Brien's hornpipe ballet. The plans are now available at The Bristol and at the theatre
