A message • from Mather, Pennsylvania, states .that a lire broko out in the wrecked mine there and impeded the rescue work for some hours. Later the fire was controlled with no further injuries. The fiftieth body has been removed. Two miners whose story is given credence said that they saw a cutting machine sever an electric cable. Sparks ignited gas and coal-dust, and a series of explosions followed.
