A CHILD'S DEATH
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. ' Scalds received through, boiling soup being splashed over her resulted recently in the death of Rcta Hegh, aged two years. An inquest was held yesterday. The child lived with her parents .'it I'apakura. Mrs. 'Evelyn A. Thornclly, grandmother of tho child, who was looking after the child, said that while she was preparing the evening meal, the children were playing in the kitchen. She was carrying a pot of boiling soup into the scullery, and one of the children pushed Eeta towards her, and some of the soup splashed over the child. The child was medically attended, and removed to the Auckland Hospital. Two days after her admission she died. A verdict that death was due to shock, following scalds to her neck, chest, and face was returned.
