SHIRKERS NOT WANTED
BY ST. JOHN AMBULANCE NAVY AND ARMY ADJUNCT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, 22nd May. .At a meeting 'of the Wanganui Ambulance Brigade, the following motion was passed: — ' "That the Wanganui Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade places on record its disapproval of Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., of Christchurch, who, in dealing with a recent case of objection to military training, allowed the claim of the defendant, provided he remained a member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade until he reached the age of 21. As members of the brigade of the Independent Order of St. John, the senior branch of the Eed Cross organisation of tho British Empire, wo enter into specific agreement to maintain such a standard of organised efficiency that we shall be prepared to serve as auxiliaries to tho medical establishment of either Navy or Army in time of war, as well as to civic authorities of the Health Department of the Government. This being the case, our ranks are not made up of objectors, conscientious or otherwise, but of men prepared to help win a war or to serve the community in times of peace." A copy of this resolution is Jo be forwarded to the Magistrate and to all divisions of the Brigade throughout the Dominion.
