MANY ACCIDENTS
♦ —■ A BAD WEEK-END Saturday was a particularly "busy day for the City ' Ambulance, which Avas called to an unusual number of accidents in Wellington and the suburbs. A fall oft' a ladder Avliilo working on tho now D.I.C. buildings Avas responsible for J. Rider, a labourer residing in Wallace street, receiving concussion and injuries to his head and face. He Avas taken to the Hospital by the ambulance. T. A. Stopforth, a labourer residing in Loiver Hutt, ran a nail into his left . foot Avhile working at the Atlantic Oil Co.'s works, KaiAvarra. He received medical attention and Avas then taken to his home. F. H. Blanchard AA-as also injured at the same works. He Avas struck by a falling pipe,'receiving injuries to his back. The ambulance rendered first-aid and then took him to his home, GO, Cambridge terrace. Airs. 11. Alankelo.w, 84, Washington avenue, experienced a .fall and fractured her right thigh. She Avas taken to the Hospital by the ambulance. E. P. Walker, a member of the Ponokc intermediate, team, had his right ankle broken while playing at Lower Hutt. He Avas first, taken to his homo at 139, Marine parade, but Avas aftei-Avards removed to the Hospital. F. Chapman, a postman, and D. Loav, a clerk, were riding along tho Evans Bay road on a motor-cycle Avhen the machine went over a ten-foot bank. Chapman, who was in charge of the cycle, suffered concussion and abrasions to his head and neck. Loav Avas also suffering from concussion and received injuries to his head and right shoulder, besides numerous small wounds on his hands. They both reside at 27, Everton terrace. They were taken to the Hospital by tho City Ambulance. Two motor-cars collided at LoavciHutt at midnight on Saturday, and as a result E. Al'Vicker, of la, Hutt road, Lower Hutt, Avas taken to the Hospital suffering from a fractured loAver jaiy and Avounds to his face. . Airs. Alaud Hicks, of Ca, Bruce avenue, Brooklyn, Avas admitttd to the Hospital at C.50 this morning, suffering from a fractured right leg. She Avas riding in a sidecar attached to a motorcj'clo Avhich collided Avith a motor van at tho corner of Willis and Ghuznce streets. She was attended to by the ambulance and taken to tho Hospital.
