«, Dear Fairiel, —Could I, "Longshanks," join the Fairy King? 1 think it would be good fun. I belong to a club which we call the Merry Club, and my friend, the secretary of the club, suggested that we should all write to you. Fairiel, I think it is good fun. I have called myself "Longshanks" because they tell me I am always growing and never stopping. This afternoon I and' my friend, the secretary, went out to Island Bay for a walk, and did not arrive home again until 5 o'clock, so I am quite tired now, and I think I will go to bod, for it is the best place for tired people. Do you spell your name "Fairiel" or "Faricl"? I notice some little girls spell your name the latter way and you spelt it the former. I expect you know how to spell your own name, but I thought it might bo a misprint. Much love to Fairy King. LONGSHANKS. Newtown. Dear Fairiel, —I simply lovo Saturday nights when the "Evening Post" comes to our door. I am generally the first to read it, and I (urn over all tlio pages till I come to the Fairy Ring. f read as much as I can of the Fairy Ring till Daddy wants the paper. I read the rest in bed. —Goodbye for now, Fairiel. Love from ionic. Eric Pieot, Karon.
