NO APPEARANCE
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED "When Arthur Hobbs, a salesman, agod 27, appeared on remand in the Magistrate's Court recently, charged with having failed to account for £6 10s and with stealing on divers dates (500 boxes of butter valued at £2000, tho property of Josoph Nathan and Co., Ltd., n final remand until to-day was granted. When tho caso was called this morning Hobbs did not appear. His counsel, Mr. W. E. Leicester, said ho was nnablo to account for his client's failuro to appear, as ho had boon reporting regularly to tho police. On the application of Ohiof-Dotoctivo Ward, who said tho accused was at his hotel this morning, a warrant for his arrest was issued, and tho caso was stood down until this aftornoon. Tho accused again failed to appear, and the Magistrate (Mr. E. Page, S.M.) said he would cortify that the obligation on the part of tho surety to havo the dofondant before tho Court had not been performed, and that ho would give tho suroty an opportunity of showing later why tho bond should not bo estreated.
