TWO OTHER TENDERS
BRUCE WARNS SEAMEN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. ■ SYDNEY, 25th April. In addition to Lord Kylsant's tender on behalf of the White Star Lino for tho Commonwealth steamers, which was accepted, thoro were two others, Runcilnau (London), Ltd., for £1,250,000, and Sir James Connolly, on behalf of tho Australian Commonwealth Shipping Company, 1928, for £1,575,000. Lord Kylsant has given an undertaking to maintain an equivalent service to that of tho Commonwealth Line and maintain an efficient Australian organisation. Mr. Bruce also announces that tenders will bo invited for leasing the Cockatoo Island dockyard. Ho warns seamen that in tho event of an attempt to boycott the vessels under tho new ownership tho Government will uso whatever powers it possesses, and if necessary obtain additional powers to deal with tho unions concerned.
