DE LUXE THEATRE.
A spectacular forceful depiction of the days of the Ciallcian-Russiah border just after tho outbreak of the war In 19f4 is tho themo of "Surrender," to be shown finally to-night at the I)e Luxe Theatre.' A colourful Gallcian town is tho .locale of Hie story. It is here that the .Russians and the Austrians vie for supremacy, and Mary Phllbln, as a little Galicran, falls in love with Ivan Mosjukine, who enacts the role of'a Russian prince. Ivan Mosjukino :again proves that he is a fine actor. The supporting cast-is as well chosen as the principals, with such recognised players as Otto Matleson, as Joshua, the betrothed of Miss Philbin and Nigel de Bruller, as her tragic lather, the Rabbi. First class supporting films are shown. Excellent musical numbers are played on the Wurlitbcr organ and by the De Luxe orchestra. A distinguished cast will appear in the comedy, "The Cohens and Kellys in Paris," at the De Luxe Theatre to-morrow, with a matinee on Saturday, at 2.30 p.m. The cast includes George Sidney, J. Farrell Mac Donald, Vcra Gordon, Kate Price, and Gertrude Astor. This comedy is. full of humour, and Is the story of the relations between an Irishman and a Jew, partners in business. Frequent fights between them result In a feud which carried both families to Paris on the same boat to stop the wedding of Miss Cohen to young Mr. Kelly. As the Irishman, J. Far,rell Mac Donald has given one of the best .performances of his career, whilst George Sidney as Cohen Is most humorous. The supporting programme will include special musical Items both by the Orchestra De Luxe and Mr. Aarons at the • Wurlitzer. The box plans are now open at The Bristol Piano Co., Altken's Book Arcade, or tho theatre.
