THE AUCKLAND INQUIRY (By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, 24th April. Mr. W. G. Goodman, chiof engineer and administrator of tho Adelaide Tramways, arrived by the Marama to sit as a member of tho Auckland Transport CommissioJi. In 1907 ho was in char.go of tho Duncdin city power scheme for trams. Later ho acted as consulting engineer to the Chi-istchurch City Council. Mr. Goodman occupied an important post with the Auckland City Council when tho original power scheme was undertaken. Thero are 6J> omnibuses and 300 trams operating in Adelaide, serving a population of 300,000.' There are over 135 miles of . track. A Motor Omnibus Board, of which Mr. Goodman is deputy chairman, controls tho city's transport, specifying routes and fares, .and entirely altering the position prior to November, when unrestricted private enterprise competed with the tramways.
