LORRY CRASHES DOWN SLOPE
(By Tel«araph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") AUCKLAND, This Day. A fatal accident occurred in th« Hunua Gorge about 7 o'clock on.1 Saturday night. Stuart Joseph Henrys, farmer, of Happy Valley, Hunua, and son of Mr. J. E. Henrys, well-known racing handicapper, was killed when a half-ton motor-truck, in which he vM journeying home from Auckland with his brother-in-law, Bichard Edward Smith, left the road and fell about JO foot down a precipitous slope. Henrys was 31 years of age, married, and with two children. After the accident, Mr. Smith, who had been driving, was unconscious for about three hours. On regaining consciousness ,ho found it was beyond his strength to extricate Mr. Henrys. He walked to the Hunua quarry, about a mile away, and returned with help, but when thoy arrived at the scene -of the accident life was extinct. Mr. Smith walked tho milo back to the quarry while suffering from bruises and other injuries. Ho is being treated at Papakura. ■. ■:' . ■.
