ORDERED TO LEAVE TOWN

A third offence of drunkenness within six days was admitted by Leonard William Beach, aged 43, in the Magistrate's. Court to-day. "He was before the Court on 14th and 15th of this month, ami was again arrested on Saturday," said Sub-Inspector Lander. "He was only discharged from gaol on 13th March after serving a sentence. He does not appear to be able to keep sober. I understand he wants to be committed to the island." Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M.: "Is he a case for the island?" The Sub-Inspector: "I don't think so. He is an able-bodied man, and if he could get away from the town, he should be able to get on all right. "You will be convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within a month," said Mr. Salmon to the defendant, "and you will be called upon if you are in town to-morrow."
