OLYMPIC SWIMMERS.
On Tuesday night at-8 .o'clock at the-. Tepid Baths, Tasman - street; ■ jtwo of the, Olympic swimmers will make their last appearance here before leaving for the Games. One of these, Miss K.~ Miller, has just returned from a triumphant tour of Australia, where her swimming placed < her in the world* best clasa. She will attempt next Tuesday, to lower the 220 yard* fresh-water record, and wi)l »J*o compete, in handicap events. The other •wimmer, D. P. Lindsay, is known, throughout 'New Zealand as being the finest *wimmer ever produced in this country. Lind*«y w New Zealand champion for all distance* fronv 220 yards to one mile, and;record-holder in.every case. Next Tuesday he will-swim^ in-the. 220 yards and 440- yards invitation races. All the proceeds will be devoted to the Olympic Fund. Miss K. Miller, the Otago swimmer, who has just returned from Australia, accompanied by her mother, Mrs. A. Miller, who acted as chaperon during the Commonwealth tour, arrived from Auckland by the Main Trunk express to-day, and this afternoon is attending, the ■. schools' swimming carnival at Te. Aro "Baths. _ D ? vP, Lindsay, the New Zealand champion disr tancc swimmer and nominee for the Olympic Games, arrived in Wellington from the South yesterday. ..'. \ . :
