LODGE MEETINGS
The fortnightly meeting o£ Southern Crosa Lodge, No. 24, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., was held last week. Tho ■ N.G.,' Bros. J. B. Kiec, presided over a fair attendance. Nine 'brothers wcro reported on the sick list and relative sick drafts were passed for payment. Two candidates were.proposed for membership. An official visit was received from tho N.G. (Bro. Cozens), oflicers, and members of Maranui 'Lodge. The second and final nominations o£ officers for the cnauiug term wero taken. Accepted invitations to noeials were received from Lily of tho Valley. Itcbokak and Cleveland Lodges. -The lodge then adjourned and members were entertained by Rose of Wellingtonl Rebckah Lodge. The social, which wns'; a great success, was held to assist in raising funds to entertain Grand Lodge representatives when visiting Wellington, Lily o£ tho Valley Kebekah Lodge, 1.0.0. F., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting, and also celebrated its first birthday, last Monday, Sister Cowley, P.N.G.,! presiding over a good attendance. Tho N.G., Sister Moran, was reported sick. Official visitors from Esther Rebekah and Star of Petone Lodges conveyed,fraternal and birthday greetingß, and the brothers of Waiwhctii Lodge kindly gave their assistance to make tho evening a success, and h pleasant social was enjoyed by visitors und members. Molrose Lodge, No.. 60, U.A.0.D., continues to hold well-attended and interestiiir meetings, and this week's function was no exception to tho rule. A.D. Bro. Birkctt presided, and variouß visitors were present. Interest, is contred in the competition for a gold medal donated by j'.D.P. Bro. .7. Johnstone for the member introducing tho largest number of candidate! for tho year ending in May, thero being three nominations at this meeting. An interesting lecturo on "Modern Druidisin" was dehverod by P.D.I. ■ Bro. John* stone. . Tho fortnightly meeting oE JJcalandia Lodge, No. 48, 1.0.0. F., ft.Z was held last week, Bro. J. A. K. Robinson, N.G., presiding over a good attendance. Various amounts wcro pusscd for payment, and reports wcro received in connection with sick members. luvitations were extended to all other lodges to participate in' the commemoration meeting to bo hold on 20th April by,tho lodge; .Four new candidates were, proposed for membership. Tho-first nomination of officers for tho ensuing term took place. VisjtinK brethren were accorded a hourly'Voto of thanks, responded to by Bro. Rice, N.G., Southern Cross Lodge, Bro. Carter, Blenheim .Lodge, Bro, Cosgrovc, P.G., Maranui Lodge, and Bro. Harvey, .Pioneer Lodge, Southland. Cleveland Lodge, No. 13, 1.0.0.1 T., N.Z., held its fortnightly meeting last week, tho N.G., Bro. <T. A. Robson, presiding over a fair attendance, among whom was Bro. Cross (Danneyirkc), who spoke of, tho work of the Order in his district. The. first nomination of officers' for tho com-, ing term' took place. Tf was resolved to challenge Esther Kebekah Lodge to a card tournament at some suitable dato. The lodge then went into harmony. Court v Lady. Glasgow, No. 8201, A.0.F., held ; its fortnightly meeting last week, C.R. Sister D. Smith presiding over- a fair, attendance, Ono candidate was nominated. At the. closo of the meeting a social evening, was held, dancing and games being indulged in. Sister E. Bryant was the winner of a handsome box of chocolates. Mrs. A. Robb and partner supplied the music, and Sister Cr. Anset acted as M;C.
