MEAT MARKET DOWN.
Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following cable from their London agents, dated 10th March:— frozen meat quotations (prices on a delivered basis, i.e., including storage charges, cartage, tolls, etc):' Down lamb, 28/42, 9'/4d per lb; best North Island, 28/ 42, Q'Ad per lb; ordinary North Island, i 28/42, 8% per lb; second quality lamb, B]/idperß]/idper lb; best North Island wethers, 48/64, 7d per lb; best North Island wethers, 64/72, S'/fid per lb; ordinary North Island wethers, ' 48/64, *C7sd per lb; North Island ewes, 48/64, 5%d per lb; North Island ewes, 04/72, 4%d per lb; New Zealand prime ox beef, 162/220, 4%d 'per lb. As compared with last week's quotations, Down lamb is %d per lb lower, best and second quality Vtd per lb lower, ordinary %d per lb. lower. Best and ordinary wethers %d per lb lower. The spot market is weaker all round. Heavy lambs, are difficult to quit. ' Market' showing a. weakening tendency. The market for wethers is weaker, with a limited demand."
