PETROL TAX REFUNDS

'♦ '. ■ POSITION OF FIRE BRIGADES The Wellington Fire Board has received a letter from the Duncdin Fire Board asking its support in an appeal to the Government for a refund of the tax 'imposed Upon petrol used in xfire brigade operations, and also for exemption from the annual payment of license and other motor vehicle fees. The board was of the opinion that Wellington, should tako no action in that direction. It was remarked that tho wholo purpose of the Act was to equalise road taxation and that oven Government vehicles, which were exempted, were placed on an equal footing by the Government.
