Bothamloy, M. S. a. Monk, D. Prosser, and the County Clerk. (Mr. W. L. Beech). , Two objections wero received concoming the proposed deviation of tho main road at Porirna." Tho chairman said that advertisements had appeared in tho Press that a ramp was to bo built. No objections, however, had been lodged with tho council until after they had informed tho Department thoy wero agreeable to tho deviation being made. ■' The Porirua Eatepnyers' and Progressive Association asked that a, footpath bo formed from the.main road to tho school at Porirua. ...' Councillor. Windloy said that tho mattor had.been considered by tho.Finance and Policy Committee. Before further action was taken tho recommendation was made that a. tally of traffic be taken oh, say, throo days in every week from 8 a.m. to 8.30 a.m., 8.30 a.m. to 0 a.m., noon to 12.30 p.m., and from 2.30 p.m. to 3.301 p.m. It was also suggested by tho committeo that actual road dimensions bq taken, botween the junction of tho main road and Titahi road to the schools. Tho committee's roport was adopted. ... • • ... Tho Public "Works Department, notiilcd that tho Karori-Makiira road,, four ■miles, had bcon recommended by the Main 'Highways' Board' for'declaration as a main -highway.
