Mrs. Walter Eunciman (li.) 10,241 Sir Andrew Gaird (0.) .... 9,478 Mr. Fred Hopkins (Lab.) ,4,343 Liberal majority .... 763 At tho previous election Mr. HaWke, the Conservative "candidate, defeated Sir C. Cory, Liberal, by 11,159 against 9912, there being no Labour candidate. The Government, therefore, loieg it seat to tho Liberals. m Mrs. "Walter Bunciman, the new mem-ber-for St. Ives, is the wife of the Eight Hon. Walter Eunciman, Liberal member for Swansea, West, a former " Minister in the Asquith Cabinet, 160?----1916. The St. Ives by-election, adds to a marked revival in Liberalism in Britain as evidenced by recent by-elee-' tions^ . '" . ' ■ ".-.•■■'
