CHARM OF WAIKAREMOANA
Lake Waikaremoana, ono of New Zealand's most beautiful lakes, is situated.42 miles inland from Wairoa, arid surrounded by. forest reaching to the water's edge. The Government hostel is picturesquely situated on a headland overlooking the lake. Launches and boats enable visitors to make delightful lake trips, whilst excellent trout fishing is obtainable. Fishing rods and tackle are on hire nt the hostel. The trip from . Wellington is made by express train leaving Wellington at 9.33 a.m., arriving at Napier at 5,9 p.m. The , journey is continued by service car, leaving Napier at 8 a.m. on the following day, and arriving at Lake Waikaremoana at 5 p.m. the same evening. The Railway Department is arranging to issue tickets at specially reduced fares from 3rd to 31st March, available for one month.
