A PROFITABLE BASIS EFFECT OF BEAM WIRELESS (By Telegraph.—Press Association,) AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr. R. S. Bain, superintendent for tho Pacific Cable Board, arrived from Vancouver yesterday after a tour of the various stations. Mr. Bain states that the board is still operating on a profitable basis, although the introduction of beam wireless had taken away a certain amount of business. No more extensions to the Pacific cable services were contemplated at present, nor could the rates be further reduced. Mr. Bain goes on to Wellington for embarkation by the Maunganm for the Sydney, headquarters.
