THE COMING CONFERENCE COMMITTEE OF DIRECTORS When the recess conference in regard to tho I.C. and A. Act was jjroposed in tho House of Eepresentatives, by the Prime Minister at the close of last session, he made only tentative suggestions ;is to how the parties in the House should be represented at the preI liminury meeting—now fixed for Wed- [ ncsday next—at which the agenda and other details in connection with the main conference are to be determined. The Committee of Directors has now been appointed as follows:—The Prime Minister (the Eight Hon. J. G. Coates), and the Minister of Labour (the Hon G. J. Anderson); Sir John Luke (Wellington North), Mr. J. A. Nash (Palmerston) and Mr. F. Waite (Clutha), representing the Beforra Party; Mr. M. J. Savage (Auckland West), and Mr. K. M'Kecu (Wellington South), representing the Labour Opposition; and Mr. G. Forbes (Hurunui), and Mr. B. A. Banson (Pahiatua), representing the National Party. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr. H. E. Holland), is unable to act, and Mr. M'Keen will take his place. The Committee will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at room 61, Parliament House. One of the matters to be determined by the Committee of Directors will be the personnel of the main conference. It is desired to make the conference as representative as possible of all who are affected by the operations of the I.C. and A. Act.
