RONALD SYME'S CAREER TO PURSUE CLASSICAL RESEARCH (A.P.A. and "Sun.") (Received 28th January, 2 p.m.) LONDON, 27th January. The well-known New Zealand scholar, Ronald Syme, of Eltham and Victoria University College, who is now completing a most distinguished career at Oxford, winning the Magdalen Senior Scholarship and the University Derby Scholarship, intends to pursue classical research abroad on the later period of the Roman Empire.
