NO-LICENSE AREAS

INSUFFICIENT ADDRESS (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, 27th January. Mr. Orr Walker, S.M., gave reserved judgment to-day in a case in which Bishop and Co., Christchurch, were charged with failing to place the name and address of the purchaser on packages of liquor sent into a No-license area, and James Somerville, of Seafield, and James Sim, of Seafield road, wero charged with failing to place name and address on orders. Counsel contended that Ashburton was sufficient. The Magistrate held that such an address was not sufficient. The address must be a reasonable one, so that the liquor could be traced. As this typo of address hitherto had been accepted, however, he would not impose a fine. He ordered payment of costs.
