AMERICAN JUSTICE
SINCLAIR-BURNS TRIAL (Received 28th January, 8 a.m.) WASHINGTON, 26th January. Sensational charges characterised the resumption of the trial of Harry M. Sinclair and William Burns for contempt of Court. The attorney for Burns told1 the presiding Judge, Justice Siddong, that a woman witness for the defence had been struck in an hotel room and robbed of a letter bearing on the character of the State's star witness. Judge Siddons stated that he assumed the police would handle the charge later. Detective Burns himself declared that the rooms of many of his operatives had been entered and documents stolen.
