CONCLUDING EVENTS KECOBDS BROKEN (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, 27th January. The New Zealand swimming championships concluded to-night, and, as oil previous nights, there was a splendid attendance. The War Memorial Shield was taken to Wellington, with a total of 5 points. Lindsay put up a great swim in the 440 yards' championship, and after three laps the other competitors were hopelessly out of it. The champion won as he liked by 25 yards in the record time of smin 28 l-ssee. Miss K. Miller also returned an astonishing time for the same distance, which she covered in 6min 9 2-ssec, 32 seconds under the preivous record. The only other starter, Miss D. Grant, of Auckland, was more than a lap behind when the winner touched. The Wellington flyer, Cameron, had no difficulty with the opposition in the 100 yards intermediate breaststroke event, and although at one stage he was strongly challenged by D. Magee, of Auckland, the champion drew away and won somewhat easily by three yards. Miss Pidgeon was the only competitor in the 220 yards ladies' breaststroke championship, and succeeded in owering the existing record by 4 4-ssec. i Calder had. no difficulty in retaining his v • \ng title, and another Otago man, H.
