WOOL SALE
INVERCAI -s;LL PRICES (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, This Dsy. The wool sale held at Invereargill today proved to be the best go far this season in New Zealand. There wu a full bench of buyers and the competition throughout was of the keenest. Ko better description of the sale can be firtn than by stating that, as compared with, the second sale last year, prices showed an appreciation of 2d to 3d per lb for good halfbred and fine crossbred wool*. The appreciation in the coarser classes, though substantial, was hardly to good. The wool was lighter and brighter than lait year, and was always in keen demand. The few lots passed at the sale were satisfactorily dealt with afterwards. A line of -super halfbred ewe wool brought 27d, which is stated to be a record price this season. Over 24,000 bales were disposed of. The following is the range of price*. those for the previous sale last March, being given in parentheses: Halfbred super, 23d to 27d; medium (17Md to 19Hd), 22d to 24d; inferior (15d to 16d), 19d to 21d; fine crossbred roper (to 17d). 19d to 21d; medium (15d to 16Kd), 17d to 19d; inferior (13ttd to MXd), 15d to 16% d; medium crossbred, super (Ifld to 17d), 16% dto 19d; medium (l«4d to 18d). 14% dto 16Hd; coarse (12% dto 13Kd)» 13% dto 15(1. Coarse crossbred: Super (13% dto 15d), Md to 1M; medium (12Hd to 13% d), 13% dto 16d; inferior (Uttd to. 12% d), 12ttd to lid. Hogget; Super (nil), 18d to 20d; medium (15% dto 17d), ISd to. 18d; coarse (13d to 15ttd), Md to l«d. Pieces: Extra good (15d to 17d), Uttd to 17% d); first crossbred (12% dto 144), 13d to 15d; second crossbred (9%d to ISHd). lOd to 13d). Bellies: First crossbred (lid to 13d), 12d to 14d; second crossbred (Mid «to lid), lid to 12d.
