RECEPTION IN PARIS SCENES FULL OF COLOUR (United Press AsiooUtion.—Copyright.) PABIB, 25th January. The King and Queen of Afghanistan have arrived. They were greeted at the station by the smiling President, the booming of guns, and the Afghan National Anthem. The King was a handsome figure in a gorgeous red, gold, and silver uniform of ah Afghan general, with a white egret plume in his cap. The Queen, who anywhere would pass for a European, was wearing a smart hat of brown velour and a fur coat. There was a touching scene when Prince Hedayatullah, aged 16f years, who is studying in Paris, greeted his parents, whom he had not seen for two years. Then began an imposing, colourful procession along the Champs Elysees, through the Place de la Concorde, to the Ministry of Foreign.Affairs, where the 'Boyal party art the guests of France, King Amanhullah using the bed on which Napoleon slept and writing at a table that was used by Gambetta. The arrival in-London of the King and Queen is fixed for 14th March.
