FIREWORKS DISPLAY
Kxperts from the factory of Walnonl Fireworks, Ltd., aro already engaged on tho preparation of tho large display of fireworks to he given on Athletic Park next Monday night. Tho company recently cave a display in Auckland, of which the "New Zealand Herald" says: "A very fine display of fireworks, an attraction rarely to bo seen in Auckland, was given last evening. .. . Tho entertainment proved very spectacular, a comprehensive programme of the latest novolllos being arranged. A wide variety of set and mechanical pieces included rainbow wheels, picturesque fountains, and a double cliromatropc. in which two large pieces revolved simultaneously In opposite direction." Next Monday's display promises to eclipse anything in the same line ever previously seen hero. Prior to the display or fireworks, tho Port Nicholson Silver Band will play a programmo of select numbers. The proceeds of tho night are to ho devoted to tho funds of the band mentioned, to whoso enterprise belongs the credit of arranging tho display.
