MEAT COMPANY'S BONUS.

The annual report of the directors of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Ltd., for the year ended 31st October, 1927, shows that the balance available for appropriation as shown by the balancesheet is £75,034 7s sd, which the directors recommend should be disposed of as follows:—^To pay a final dividend of 2& per cent, upon the paid-up share capital, making 5 per cent, for the year ended 31st October, 1927, £15,907 15s; to pay a special bonus of 2% per cent, upon the paidup share capital, £15,907 15s; to carry forward £43,218 17s sd; total, £75,034 7s sd. The directors are pleased to- be able to recommend the payment of the bonus of Vh per cent, this year as some compensation to shareholders for the nonpayment of a' dividend last year. The director retiring by rotation is Mr. J. Montgomery, who, being eligible, offers himself for re-election. The auditor, Mr. J. W. K. Lawrence, also retires, and offers himself for re-election. The profit and loss account is as follows:—By balance brought forward, £42,456 4s 6d; by transfer fees, £4? 10s; by profit after making provision for repairs, renewals, taxation, and sundry contingencies, £60,545 14s 7d; in all, £103,045 9s Id. From this has to be taken £15,907 15s interjm dividend, and £12,103, the amount written off interest in shares of Wanpanui Meat Freezing Company, Ltd. The balance is £75,034 7s sd.
