"GONE THE LIMIT"
EMPLOYERS' ULTIMATUM (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHIJRCH, This Day. When the Conciliation Council met this morning to hear the tramway workers' dispute, tho assessors for the board declared that the board would not give any increase in wages. The representative of the union contended that the motormen and conductors were not being adequately paid for the strain which was placed upon them. Mr. William Hayward said tho employers in New Zealand have gone the , limit. "Wo can't give away a farthing." The assessors for the board offered a renewal of the old award.
