DE, REAKES'S MISSION

VISIT TO SOUTH AFRICA (United Press Association.—Copyright.) LONDON, 14th January. Dr. Eeakes, chief of the New Zealand Agricultural Service, is leaving for South Africa to-day, and thenco will proceed homeward, after inquiring into agricultural questions of interest to New Zealand. Since tho Agricultural Conference, Dr. Eeakes has visited the most important research stations, and also given attention to the study of animal diseases, particularly with reference to dairy cows. He is gratified with the personal contact established with the agricultural and veterinary scientists of the United Kingdom.
