Following the discovery of the body of Airs. lolcnc Mary Sampson lying on the road outside her homo at Mitcharii suffering from severe injuries from which she later died, the police established that it was a case of murder, for which robbery was the probable motive, as a wallet containing 4120 which she was known to possess was missing. The police arrested Ernest Klcinhert Orchard, a labourer, aged 20, and charged him with murder.
