LYALL BAY CARNIVAL.
The Lyall Bay carnival was brought to a successful conclusion on Saturday evening. The gala has been well attended during the past fortnight, ami It is anticipated that a satisfactory sum will bo raised to go towards tho equipment of tho children's play area. The committee responsible, for the carnival consisted of representatives of tho Lyall Bay Progressive Association, and the Maranui and Lyall Bay Surf Clubs. Concluding results arc:—Baby show: Under 3 months. Jack Tracy; under 0 months. Douglas Patton; under 12 months, Joyce Thompson; under IS months, Colleen Brown. Long-hair competition : Iris Paterson, 1; Sylvia ltiggs, 2; Rona Goodwin, 3; Edna Goodwin, special prize. Kite-flying competition: 11. Darrant, 1; F. W Williams, 2.
