THE FAIRY RING

DEAR EVERY ONE,— I haven't the littlest doubt that you're having the wonderfullest limes . . .every hour of these gold days! Aren't you? I am. I'm packing all my clay jobs into the night to make my playtime bigger! What about having some specially Holiday Letters in our Ring .. . some jolly tellings of our doings? They can be any lenglh at all, BUT . . . they must show- us things and make us wish we'd been there; they must sound as though you'd truly enjoyed the fun you're writing about, and they mustn't have either sentences or words that you wouldn't say if you were here beside me telling me. The story up in the left top corner that Shirley has written for us is about three days in Auckland, but of course it's much and much and much longer than yours may be. And remember, even only one day can hold enough of happiness for a letter. See what you can do. The best ones of course will go into the Ring . . . and who knows but the Postman might even go visiting again. . . . Ink, and one side of the pap"i\ Did you remember that? Yours, FAIRIEL.
