FRENCH TEAM'S VISIT

Arrangements are well in hand for the matches to be played in New Zealand with the French tennis team. The visitors are due at Wellington by the Makura on 16th January, and will play on 17th or 18th, the date not having been decided yet. The match against New Zealand is to bo played under Davis Cup conditions. It has been arranged to play two singles on the first day, and two singles and a double on the second day. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association is arranging for an exhibition single match to be played on the first day by the third member of the French team. Preparations are in hand for the erection of adequate stands around the court which is being prepared on the Wellington Association 'a grounds at Miramar. Sub-committees have been appointed to select the New Zealand team, and to make arrangement! for the match.
