CRICKET ACCIDENTS

AUCKLAND, This Day. C. A. Snedden, captain of the Grafton team, received an injury when holding, and was unable to take his place again for the remainder of the opponents' innings. H. D.- Gillespie, leader of the Eden side, was struck on the thumb by a ball. His thumb was dislocated and split. The injury may prevent him taking his place against Otago on Saturday week. A third injury was suffere.d by J. Duncan, captain of Parnell. Duncan was responsible for the dismissal of E. H. Bowley in the match against V.M.C.A. When fielding, at mid-off he thrust his hands forward for a catch, and although he held it the ball split one of his finders so badly that he had to go to the hospital to have it attended to.
