BUSINESS MAN RETIRES
The, retirement is announced of Mr. Richard Teece, director of the A.M.P. Society, after sixty years' service. Mr. Teece's resignation has been accepted by the society with regret, and the board of directors has placed on record its appreciation of the splendid services rendered by him. Mr. Teece entered the services -of the Australian Mutual Provident Society as a junior clerk on Ist July, 1866. He became chief clerk in 1873, secretary in 1877, and general man-

ager and actuary in September, 1890. By reason, of having reached the age of retirement, in terms of the provisions of the Officers' Provident Fund, he relinquished his staff office on 29th April, 1917, and was made consulting actuary. A vacancy occurred on the board soon afterwards,.and he was appointed a director on 25th July, 1917, the office which he has now retired, from, thus finally severing the link between himself and the society which has existed for so many years.
