(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post")
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day Improved in health, Mr. F. R. Cooke, the prominent trade union secretary and Labour member of the Christchurch City Council, returned to Christchurch after a long holiday in Great Britain. "I had a splendid trip, but I am glad to be back again in Christchurch," said Mr. Cooke. "I was offered ten acres of land and a ' pub' i* I would stay in England, but I refused. In She first place I do not believe in 'pubs,' and in the second I am in love with New Zealand.
"Communists are of no great importance in Great Britain, but they are a confounded nuisance, not only to the Labour Party, but to all political parties. The Liberal Party threatened to launch a big programme some mouths ngo, but nothing has yet eventuated, as there was styll some controversy regarding the election funds built up by Mr. Lloyd George."
