A Avpll-atteiulcd meeting of the' Petone Beautifying and Foreshore Improvement Committee was hpld last rven'i.w. Mr. ..I. W. M'Kivnn presiding.. The secretary reported that the application* for ijiiice from showmen for the carnival constituted a record for the society. It was decided to run a Kosebud. Queen competition for children between the ages of two and five years. A lengthy programme of sports for the children was adopted.
