MELANESIAN MISSION

(Special to "The Evening Post.")

AUCKLAND, This Day. The Southern Cross arrived in Auckland early this morning with the missionaries the Rev., R. E. Tempest, the English priest who has been in Melanesia for some years and who now has charge of the college at Siota> the headquarters of the mission,, the Roy. .R. J. Sheard, another Englishman stationci at Pawaj the Rev. Walter Iv.ns, Research Fellow of the University of Melbourne, who has been engaged in the study of anthroponomics, and who is returning to Melbourne, Mrs. Spr'ott, of. Bugotu, widow of the missionary, Miss E; Cprdeli, a nurse, formerly of Otaki, and how stationed at Siota, and Mr. D. L. Francis, formerly of Auckland, now stationed, at Reef Islands. With the exception of Mr. Ivehs, the members of. the party will-be returning to the mission field after a short furlough.
