ST. JUDE'S SUNDAY SCHOOL

The annual distribution of prizes' in connection witli St Jude's Sunday School, Lyall Bay, took place last Sunday afternoon, in conjunction with a flower service at which the Rev. A. T. Bristed Page officiated. A number of parents and friends were present. A processional was held, headed by the Cross, the Sunday-school banner, and. male choir, the scholars following and presenting flowers. Appropriate hymns were sung, including carols, and a solo by Miss Myrtle Hall. At the conclusion of the service the flowers were sent to the Children's Hospital. During the service the vicar extended his good wishes on behalf of the scholars to the superintendent and teachers.

On Tuesday evening the children's Christ-mas-tree was held in the Parish Hall, about 150 juveniles being present, also a number of parents. A very pleasant evening was spent, and the Christmas-tree, laden with toys and nicely lighted, was a pretty sight. The lady teachers in charge of the various stalls were kept busy, and the arrival of Father Christmas was welcomed with acclamation; Items were contributed and games indulged in. The children were given presents from the Christmas-tree, and the occasion was a fitting finale to the year's work. The picnic is to be held in February.
