Complaints of preferential treatment of JTew Zealand in the matter of freights on Butter have been made, and in reply thereto representatWeß of the overseas shipping fcaraipaniee explain that conditions relatfogto the transport o£ butter from Australia and New Zealand to the United Kingdom are so different thaf it is impossible -to make the same concession in tho J^tes to both countries. The quantity of fcntter available for export from the Dominion exceeds considerably that of the Commonwealth, and in addition the New Zealand trade is more consistent. With Australia it is different.
