Mr. Wilbur himself carried a. letter to the President, the two holding a long confrAence. It is generally understood that President Goolidg'c will support Mr. Wilbur in any action lie may take.

Mr. Butler, of the House of Representatives Naval Committee, is asking for an investigation by his committee.
