PETONE UNEMPLOYED
A meeting of about thirty unemployed was held at Petone this morning, the Rev, J. A. Lochpre. presiding. The chairman explained that tltere was very little money remaining to be spent and that there was work available for only a few men. The meeting was called with a .view to deciding upon some cc/'se of action, which the Unemployment Committee could carry out. After considerable discussion it was decided to approach the member for the district, .Mr. T. M." Wilford, to see if employment could not be found for the men on Government works at the rats of 12s and. 14s a day. '
