"KEEP GOING"
One of the best -ways of getting rid of "any car trouble is to keep going, provided it is not of a serioils nature or one involving personal safety, Bays an American writer. Many troubles wear out, particularly: unwelcome body or chassis noises. Consider, the case of- rim squeaks.
These can be "driven away" more easily than they can be removed on the spot. But the process of driving away troubles usually can be hastened. When a rim is making unpleasant noises, for instance, get out and loosen a;few of the lugs. This will change the perssure of the rim on the felloe band of the wheel and enable the rim to fit- itself to a slightly new position; Later tighten the lugs again. In nine cases out of ten the squeak will not come back.
fPhe South' Taranaki Automobile Association is having a five-mile stretch of road measured and marked for the purpose of.'providing motorists with the means of cheeking the accuracy or otherwise of their speedometers.
■"The percentage of accidents due to drivers being .asleep at the wheel greatly increased last year," says the "Wichita Eagle." "Motors are now fool-proof, but tho fool must be awake."
