COLORATURA SOPRANO.
The announcement that Miss Daisy Hall, the young New Zealand coloratura soprano is to Eive a recital at the Concert Chamber on. 10th Isovember, will no doubt create great interest amongst local music lovers. Miss Hall has been studying singing in Italy for over two years and is now a finished artist of the Bel Canto School. Furthermore, success has come her way as she will leave shortly to appear at La Scala Opera House, Milan, which is generally recogniser to observe the highest standards of Italian opera. Among her numbers will be the famous "Bell Song," from Delibe s opera "Lakme," one of the most beautiful of soprano arias, and "Charmant Diseau" (David), which with its dalliance with the flute and its copying of a bird's song, has beauty in every note. The. famous tout de force of coloratura sopranos, "Themes and \ ariations," by Poach, a dazzling piece of vocalisation with difficult flute and voice passages, will also be sung.
